Hello USS Conway Shipmates and Families,
AT LAST! AS IT HAS BEEN 4 YEARS IN THE PLANNING!! After Covid, the hotel fire, and the Sinking of the USS Sullivans, we are finally having our 2024 reunion in Buffalo (Niagara Falls, actually). Pam and Rick Miller are your reunion hosts this spring. Originally, back in 2022, our reunion was to be a dual event with the Conway and the Sperry. Following our 2022 cancellation, due to the hotel fire notification, shipmates of the Sperry decided to have a smaller version of the Buffalo reunion in the fall of 2022. Because of this, the Sperry decided not to repeat the trip back to Buffalo in the Spring of 2024.
Last May we had a successful dual reunion in Albuquerque, NM. visiting local sites.
2024 HOTEL REGISTRATION
This year our reunion is being held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Niagara Falls, NY. If you have computer access, you can visit the hotel at DoubleTree by Hilton, Niagara Falls. Address and phone number is:  401 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14303 /1-855-605-0318.
The hotel is positioned adjacent to the Niagara River, just upstream from the falls, giving all rooms a beautiful view. DoubleTree is a full-service hotel with the following amenities: fitness center, handicap access, full-service restaurant, bar lounge, and computer access. There is parking during the entire reunion which includes space for trailers and RVs. There is no fee for parking at this hotel.
IMPORTANT REUNION DETAILS:  
The reunion starts on Sunday, May 12th and hotel check out Thursday morning, May 16th 2024.
The Room Rate is $107 per night for double occupancy plus tax ($114 per night if booked online). This is an excellent rate considering the location of the hotel. This rate is also good 3 days prior and 3 days after the reunion dates. Rate does not include state tax. See page 4 for reservation details.

The cutoff date for the guaranteed rate is April 15th, 2024.
PLEASE NOTE: The above rate does not include breakfast. The restaurant is called the Parkway Prime which is in the hotel itself. There will be complimentary coffee in the lobby and rooms. Reservations for breakfast are not necessary.
REUNION SCHEDULED EVENTS
Sunday 5/12
Welcome shipmates throughout the day. Check in at the Conway Registration Table.
Join us at 6:30pm for pizza and salad in the Hospitality Room provided by the Conway’s Treasury. Hospitality room will remain open with soft drinks, snacks, beer, wine, and friendship.
PLEASE NOTE TO ALL: Pam and I both know that the 2 trips on Monday and Tuesday are a bit pricy. The cost of bus transportation has risen significantly. We have already made a deposit for trips with a minimum of 35 people. A small portion of the cost has been offset by the Conway Treasury Fund. This was approved by the CVA Board and CVA Members.

Visit the Buffalo Naval Park
You might be asking, why Buffalo? Well, in the Buffalo Naval Park (on Lake Erie) there are a bunch of Naval Exhibits, a WW II Submarine (USS Croaker), a light cruiser (USS Little Rock), AND WWII Destroyer (USS Sullivans). The USS Sullivans is not just any old destroyer; it is a sister ship to the USS Conway which is a Fletcher Class Tin Can. We will have time to tour the park, the ships, and the museum. Lunch will be provided aboard the fantail of the light cruiser, USS Little Rock. Our lunch is being catered by the Buffalo Catering Company which is highly recommended.
Following the Buffet dinner this evening (6:30), we will have our Live and Silent Auction in the hospitality room. Shipmates, don’t forget to bring your donations! All proceeds go to the USS Conway Treasury. If you have any questions, contact Pam Miller at [email protected]
Wednesday 5/15 (FREE DAY)
No scheduled daytime tours. Shipmates are free to do whatever they wish during the day. Below are some of the highlights in the Buffalo area that you may want to consider.

Wednesday evening we will gather for our final plated evening dinner (6:30) together; and conduct our Fallen Shipmates Ceremony honoring those Conway and Sperry Shipmates who have passed since our 2021 reunion in Myrtle Beach.
